The difference between polyester media with glass fiber
Most of the air purifier HEPA filters are made of polyester media, but industrial cleanroom HEPA filters are made of glass fiber media. Here is the difference between those two material and some reasons why the material been used.
1. Glass fiber give larger dust holding ability than polyester, because industrial HVAC system always create more dust then home, so glass fiber media is better choice than polyester. And as the higher dust holding ability, so the service life can be longer.
2. Polyester media give lower pressure drop, as the air purifier motor is quite small, it can only provide limited airflow, so the polyester is recommend.
